Sinekatalog’s take
Miklós Jancsó's early war drama has a young Hungarian deserter captured by the Red Army and befriending a dying Soviet soldier. Spare and humane, with strong landscape photography, it is a moving anti-war film before his formal experiments.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
