Plot

Endre, the financial director of a Budapest slaughterhouse, and Mária, the new, socially awkward quality inspector, discover that they share the same dream every night, in which they are two deer in a snowy forest. Trying to bridge the gap between their dreams and their real lives, they begin a tentative relationship. Ildikó Enyedi's 2017 film won the Golden Bear in Berlin.

Sinekatalog’s take

Ildikó Enyedi's Hungarian love story of two coworkers who share a deer dream is odd, tender and slaughterhouse-grim. Alexandra Borbély is remarkable, and the film is both harsh and gently romantic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
