Sinekatalog’s take

Hiroshi Inagaki's Venice Golden Lion winner stars Toshiro Mifune as a rough rickshaw puller who quietly loves a widow and raises her son. Funny and moving, with Hideko Takamine, it is a warm, sentimental classic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
