Sinekatalog’s take
Giuseppe De Santis dramatises a real accident in which a staircase collapsed under hundreds of women queuing for one typist job. Lucia Bosè, Carla Del Poggio and others make a quick, angry neorealist portrait of postwar desperation.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
