Sinekatalog’s take

Vittorio De Sica's neorealist drama of two shoeshine boys destroyed by prison is heartbreaking. Played by street children, its simple story and bleak ending made it a powerful indictment of postwar Italy.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
