Sinekatalog’s take

Mikhail Kalatozov follows four geologists looking for diamonds in the Siberian taiga, trapped by a forest fire. The camerawork is dazzling, with spinning, swooping shots that put you inside the flames, and Tatiana Samoilova gives the survival story an aching heart.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
