Sinekatalog’s take
Kenji Mizoguchi's masterpiece follows a fallen woman through a life of humiliation in feudal Japan. Kinuyo Tanaka is heartbreaking, and the long takes and compassion make it a devastating critique of society.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
