Plot
Four sisters in 1930s Osaka, from Tanizaki's novel.
Sinekatalog’s take
Kon Ichikawa's graceful adaptation of Tanizaki follows four sisters in 1930s Osaka as the family's fortunes fade. Rich in costume and season, with Keiko Kishi, it is an elegant, melancholy study of tradition giving way.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
