Plot

Bastian, a bullied boy, hides in a school attic and starts reading a magical book about the land of Fantasia, which is being swallowed by 'the Nothing'. The hero Atreyu is sent to find a cure for the sick Childlike Empress, and Bastian realises that the book is speaking to him. Based on Michael Ende's novel.

Sinekatalog’s take

A big, imaginative children's fantasy with beautiful puppets and creatures, and one of the saddest scenes in any family film. Its title song is a sentimental favourite of the 1980s.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
