Sinekatalog’s take
Aleksei German's film follows a Soviet partisan unit and a man who has served the Germans, and was banned until 1985. Rolan Bykov and Anatoly Solonitsyn are fine in a harsh, morally complex story that refuses easy heroes.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
