A day in the life of Ako, a 16-year-old Japanese girl, and her friends and co-workers. An alarm clock wakes her in a dorm; she gets ready for work and travels to a large bakery.

Sinekatalog’s take

Teshigahara follows a sixteen-year-old factory girl from alarm clock to bakery floor, observing routine with a documentary eye. The attention to ordinary rhythms is the appeal here, quiet and exact. A neat short for those curious about everyday work in postwar Japan.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
