A man returns after the Cultural Revolution to a wife who does not remember him.
Sinekatalog’s take
Zhang Yimou's quiet drama has Gong Li's wife unable to recognise her husband returned from the Cultural Revolution. Restrained and heartbreaking, with Chen Daoming, it is a tender study of memory, love and loss.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
