Plot
Mother rules the house with an iron hand and has such power over her daughters that they see themselves as becoming old unmarried, maids. Jodie has feelings for the local doctor, a man much older than her, for which her mother strongly disapproves.
Sinekatalog’s take
A domineering mother keeps her daughters under her thumb until one dares to follow her heart, in a darkly comic family tale. The mix of morbid humour and character comedy is brisk. Fun for fans of British black comedies.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
