Sinekatalog’s take
Luchino Visconti's neorealist epic follows Sicilian fishermen fighting exploitative wholesalers. Shot with locals in dialect and bleakly beautiful, it is a monumental, uncompromising portrait of labour and poverty.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
