Sinekatalog’s take

Carl Theodor Dreyer's silent drama follows an aging painter and his young protégé, whose love ends in betrayal. Benjamin Christensen is moving, and the film's restrained, intimate style makes it a quiet early landmark of queer cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
