Sinekatalog’s take

Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet's 55-minute adaptation of Böll weaves three generations of a German family through the century's violence in austere, elliptical shots. Severe and demanding, it is a landmark of political modernism.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
