Sinekatalog’s take
Alexander Dovzhenko's last project, completed by his wife Yuliya Solntseva, imagines the Kakhovka reservoir's creation and the lost villages beneath it. Lyrical, painterly and elegiac, it is a rich, valedictory work of Soviet cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
