Plot
Turkish director Ali Vatansever weighs the human cost of politically motivated urban renewal in his achingly resonant second feature, about a young couple forced to compromise their ideals and work for the very industry encroaching on their Istanbul neighbourhood, in order to keep up with the rent.
Sinekatalog’s take
A young Istanbul couple must work for the very urban renewal industry threatening their neighborhood to afford rent. The film is observant and anxious about compromise. A relevant choice for fans of contemporary Turkish social cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
