Plot
Yusuf leads a poor but peaceful life with his grandfather running coffee on the Golden Horn. Dedesin told him that the sultan’s sultan was influenced by the story of Şahmaran.
Sinekatalog’s take
A poor boy who works with his grandfather on the Golden Horn is drawn into the legend of the Şahmaran, a half-woman half-snake of Anatolian myth. Livaneli blends folk tale, fantasy and a love of Istanbul. A gentle, mythic family adventure.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
