Sinekatalog’s take

Andrei Konchalovsky's debut follows a Red Army veteran who opens a school in a remote Kyrgyz village in the early Soviet years. Visually lyrical and powerful, it is a moving, epic tale of enlightenment against tradition.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
