Sinekatalog’s take
Larisa Shepitko's drama follows a wartime pilot turned headmistress who cannot adapt to peace and her estranged daughter. Maya Bulgakova is superb in a tender, austere and often overlooked Soviet classic by a rare woman director.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
