Plot
In three periods, 1991, 2001 and 2011, a young Croat and a young Serb, played by the same actors in each story, fall in love in neighbouring villages in the Balkans. In each period, the legacy of the war and ethnic hatred affects their lives. Dalibor Matanić's 2015 film, set in a summer landscape, won the Jury Prize in Un Certain Regard at Cannes.
Sinekatalog’s take
Dalibor Matanić's triptych shows a Croat and a Serb in love in three periods, 1991, 2001 and 2011. Beautifully shot and haunting, with the same actors each time, it is a moving study of how hatred lingers and heals.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
