Sinekatalog’s take
F.W. Murnau's silent masterpiece follows a proud doorman demoted to washroom attendant. Emil Jannings is devastating, and the unchained camera and near-absence of intertitles made it a landmark of visual storytelling.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
