Plot

A version of Molière's comedy of a hypocrite.

Sinekatalog’s take

F.W. Murnau's silent version of Molière frames the comedy inside a modern story of a greedy housekeeper and an old man. Emil Jannings is oily and brilliant in a sharp, stylised satire of hypocrisy.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
