An adaptation of Gorky's play about a doss-house, with a thief and a ruined baron.
Sinekatalog’s take
Jean Renoir's Gorky adaptation lets Jean Gabin's thief and Louis Jouvet's ruined baron share a doss-house. Humane and ironic, with fine ensemble playing, it is a warm, theatrical drama of class and friendship.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
