A deserter arrives in the port of Le Havre and falls in love with a young woman, but a gangster and her guardian stand in the way.
Sinekatalog’s take
Marcel Carné's poetic realist romance has Jean Gabin's deserter meeting Michèle Morgan in a foggy Le Havre. Moody, fatalistic and gorgeously shot, it defines French poetic realism.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
