Plot

Sam, a Syrian refugee in Lebanon, agrees to have his back tattooed with a Schengen visa by a famous artist, and be exhibited as a work of art, in return for the chance to go to Europe and see the woman he loves. He soon finds that he is a commodity. Kaouther Ben Hania's 2020 film was nominated for an Academy Award.

Sinekatalog’s take

Kaouther Ben Hania's satire has a Syrian refugee tattooed with a visa as a living artwork. Witty and sharp on art-world cynicism and borders, with Yahya Mahayni strong, it is a clever, thought-provoking fable.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
