Plot

Mantoa, an 80-year-old widow in a remote village in Lesotho, who has lost her family, plans her own burial. When the villagers are told they must move to make way for a dam, she is galvanised into resistance, and becomes a leader of her community. Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese's 2019 film, with a majestic performance by Mary Twala, is a poetic tale of land and memory.
