Sinekatalog’s take
Alexander Dovzhenko's drama follows the building of a new city and the defence of the Soviet Far East against saboteurs. Lyrical in image but heavy with propaganda, it is a beautiful but stiff work of the Stalin era.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
