Plot
Says Fred Camper of the film: "Invited to Riverside, California, Brakhage, under the mistaken impression that it was a desert, was planning a desert movie when he arrived to discover an unattractive suburban landscape. So he decided to make, and shoot, a desert on his motel room table".
Sinekatalog’s take
A hand-made experiment in which a filmmaker builds his own desert on a motel table after finding the real place disappointing. The tabletop landscape is full of improvised wonder. Funny and inventive for fans of avant-garde.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
