In the fifteenth century the devil sends two emissaries to a castle to destroy lovers. They are moved by love in spite of themselves.
Sinekatalog’s take
Marcel Carné's wartime medieval fantasy has two emissaries of the devil sent to a castle, only to be moved by love. Arletty and Alain Cuny star in a poetic, dreamlike and subtly defiant fable made under Occupation.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
