Plot

It has been fifteen years since the death of her father, Agamemnon, and Elektra still burns with hatred for Aegisztosz, who conspired with Elektra's mother to kill him.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jancsó turns the Greek tragedy into a ritual of long, gliding takes, where a vengeful daughter and a tyrant circle each other like figures on a stage. Stylised, political and demanding, it rewards patient viewers of formal, art-house cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
