Sinekatalog’s take

Keisuke Kinoshita's wartime drama shows a family split by military zeal and quiet resistance, until the war's end. Made in 1946, it is a pointed, humane and brave portrait of pressure and conscience under militarism.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
