Plot
An immigrant returns to his village after many years, only to find that no one is waiting for him. When his wife and her lover murder him, an investigator attempts to reconstruct the crime, while a film crew documents the event.
Sinekatalog’s take
An immigrant returns to a village that has no place for him, and a crime is re-enacted for investigators and a film crew. Angelopoulos's debut is austere, fragmented and tragic. For patient fans of slow, political art cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
